The annual fall leaf festival and compost fair offers a kid’s scavenger hunt, information on gardening and composting, tours of the arboretum, activities and a pile of fall leaves to play in.
Valleyfest is an annual tradition bringing the greater region together since 1990. The community-wide celebration is held each September at Mirabeau Point Park and CenterPlace Regional Event Center in the Spokane Valley. Live entertainment for the entire family, an opportunity to meet and have fun with friends, and recognize area youth for their talents.
The Hearts of Gold Parade starts at University and Sprague and goes to Pines. Aqua Duck was one of hundreds of parade participants.
The Green Zone at Spokane County Interstate Fair is found in Bay 3 and filled with environmental and community resources.
The Center for Justice began the Mike Chappell Spokane River Hero Award in 2012 to recognize Mike’s legacy of work on Spokane River issues. Andy Dunau, Executive Director of the Spokane River Forum is the 2015 award recipient. Aqua Duck was invited to participate in the award ceremony.
