Melanie is a part of an interdisciplinary project called WISDM, Watershed Integrated System Dynamics Modeling, which seeks to address water resource sustainability in the Pacific Northwest. The focus of her research is on the Spokane River Basin where she is working with stakeholders to understand decision-making and trying to create broad thinking scenarios by using collaborative modeling. Collaborative modeling is a tool that allows stakeholders and scientists to jointly explore reciprocal impacts of climate change and alternative management strategies on society and hydrologic processes. Melanie will provide a general overview of her research project, information on the model she is using for collaborative modeling sessions, and the first round of model outputs. Melanie is currently in the model calibration and scenario development phase. WISDM-Collaborative Modeling presentation
