SAJB Announces New Program Manager
We are thrilled to announce that Meagan Hayes (she/her) has joined the Spokane Aquifer Joint Board (SAJB) as the new Program Manager. Meagan brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for the environment to our organization, and we are excited to have her with us, supporting us in our mission in providing clean drinking water throughout the region.
Meagan brings with her a B.S. in Conservation Management and Planning from the University of Idaho, as well as minors in Communication Studies and Fisheries Resources. Following her formal education, Meagan gained further experience through her city and county planning roles, working in Alaska as a fisheries technician, and through her current role working with the Department of Ecology in the Shorelands and Environmental Assistance Program.
SAJB asked Meagan what interested her about the Program Manager’s job and her interests in protecting the environment and drinking water. Meagan told us: “Ever since I was a young child growing up in Coeur d’Alene, I’ve found my heart and passions lie within the natural environment. I’ve always found peace and contentment in spending time in nature, and as I watch it disappear in front of me eyes, I feel quite protective and I know I must act…I have a unique perspective and interest, given that I live in Idaho and work in Washington. The primary nexus of our community is the Spokane River and the SVRP Aquifer. Preservation of this critical resource is a must.”
Meagan currently lives in Post Falls Idaho with her two dogs and husband. It is evidenced through her experience that Meagan is passionate about conservation and about serving the community. She will continue her onboarding and training until Tonilee’s retirement mid-December.
Please join us in welcoming Meagan to the SAJB!
