5.  WELLHEAD PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

  • Committee Reports
    • ProActive Business – attached are: December IGC Business Visit report, 2003 IGC visits broken down by industry, and year-end intern’s summary; Thank You letters to all 2003 participating businesses in preparation.
    • Potential Contaminant Source Inventory Update – all member Districts have returned corrected version of their respective PCSI update list.  THANK YOU ALL.  An overall updated list will be distributed in electronic and hard copy format to all Districts by the end of January.
    • Household Contaminant Disposal –Newest TV spot w/ ice fishing activity; options for media costs available at meeting
    • Education & Awareness – Work Plan forwarded to Ecology for approval
    • Website – total website visits for December 2003 = 1735.   DISTRICTS: Do you have any news or topical information to post on the website??
    • Emergency Planning – Lynn Plaggemeier – response from Model attorney re: Mutual Aid Agreement – “ need clarifying language re:  incident command”.  Any member wishing to receive a copy of the draft or to join this subcommittee, please contact Julia, 363-1066.
  • PROGRAM LEADER REPORT – Julia McHugh

GUEST SPEAKER – Ms Camille Martin, Dept. of Ecology Toxic Reduction Specialist, addressing Agency direction for bringing Hospitals and Medical Clinics into compliance with state reporting laws.

a) Aquifer Atlas reprinting – January 7th revision meeting cancelled, not yet rescheduled; draft pages for review expected

b) Next Coeur d’Alene Basin cleanup meeting is Feb 7th – working at finalizing 2004 scopes of work; Clean Water Act funds available for projects; ongoing debate about activities that accomplish on-ground work vs. studies and upper vs. lower basin activities and priorities. For further info:  www.basincommission.com.  The Washington Citizen Advisory Committee meets 2nd Thursday of month @ City Water conference room, 6:00 p.m.

c) Friends of the Aquifer – no news.
