 1.  CALL TO ORDER

2.  FINANCE COMMITTEE REPORT – Steve Skipworth, Treasurer – Kim Beal, Accountant

  • Review and Approve Bills

3.  OLD BUSINESS

  • Aquifer quantity study by Washington-Idaho-US Geological Survey
  • Aqua-Duck and other Trademarks/Logo authorized and unauthorized usage.

4.  NEW BUSINESS

  • Consideration by SAJB to cover the cost for printing additional Aquifer Atlases or cost share with another entity, supply is running low; initial cost was 1500 @$6285.

5.  WELLHEAD PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

  • Committee Reports
    • ProActive Business – draft agreement for second intern under review; intern will promote Spokane Regional Solid Waste System Small Quantity Generator Program, keep database from which business locations can be mapped in relation to Water District boundaries and wellheads, perform single industry Increased Generator Contact visits with Ecology staff
    • Potential Contaminant Source Inventory –  schedule meeting with Stan Miller to discuss estimate for inventory update cost, process and data sources
    • Household Contaminant Disposal – RSVP has received over 300 calls thus far, but no way to determine how the caller obtained the information to call – will have to wait until month-end to compare total from previous year’s collection calls and pounds delivered to the Transfer Stations
    • Education & Awareness – launched TV and radio spots and print ad, which run through April; Aqua Duck presence at Earth Day, April 19th in Riverfront Park.  SAJB Booth at Ag Extension, April 12th, part of Master Gardener Open House was attended by 350 people. Aqua Duck performance scheduled at Seth Woodard Elementary @ Park & Mission May 27th. Purchased 1,000 additional Aqua Duck decals
    • Website – Subcommittee has taken initial steps to begin redesign
    • Emergency Planning – no activity to report
  • PROGRAM LEADER REPORT – Julia McHugh

a)    Watershed Planning WRIA’s 55 and 57 – April 16th meeting – discussion of Avista relicensing process, proposed modeling scenarios to be applied to Little Spokane River data provided; next meeting May 21st.

b)    Williams Environmental/AWWA-Research Foundation Case Study of Benefits of Wellhead Protection Programs – draft case study for SAJB under review
