5. WELLHEAD PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION PLAN
- Committee Reports
- ProActive Business – Ecology progress report on business visits available at meeting
- Potential Contaminant Source Inventory – map revisions by end of September, risk ranking to be done by subcommittee prior to completion
- Household Contaminant Disposal – waiting on data from Regional Solid Waste to determine if increase in contaminants turned in as a result of HCD event (Computer crash has hampered the tally).
- Education & Awareness – Water Weeks event Saturday, September 28, 10-4 p.m. Barker Road and Centennial Trail (print ads in Inlander) debut of Aqua Duck, background checks on all actors complete; next KDK ONE TV spot proposal, cost for additional Aqua Duck graphics; KDK ONE radio spot for Water Weeks event distributed as PSA; draft Education Plan component of Ecology 319 Grant to substitute ‘teenage’ film for Children’s Theatre, and a web-based Virtual Field Trip of the Aquifer for middle school students
- Emergency Planning – Water Quality Emergency Coordination questionnaire will be collected by the end of October (distributed with last month’s agenda+minutes)

a) GUESTS: Panhandle Mobile Estates Water System, Barbara Hammonds, Hayden, Idaho and Mark Williams, Williams Environmental, AWWA Research Foundation consultant for study to measure/demonstrate the benefits of wellhead programs

c) “Aquifer Influence” road signs to be installed by DoT – “should be installed some time this month”
d) Groundwater Foundation Conference November 17-20, Eugene, OR – time to register
e) Watershed Resource Inventory Analysis WRIA – 9/18 mtg. discussion of macroinvertebrates in the Little Spokane River, the ‘MIKE’ model to be used to determine water ‘budget’, and decision making process for stakeholders
f) Dept. of Ecology public hearings on proposed rule amendments to Water Conservancy Boards Chapter 173-153 WAC in Spokane Tuesday, Sept 24th 7 p.m. Spokane Falls Community College Student Union building Lounge AB
g) Washington Citizens Advisory Committee – no news
